Can I be a Balloon for Halloween?

Heather and I picked these balloons up from the Intel Halloween Bash last night. Keegan just loves them. He walks around the house with them most the day. I think that he wants to be a Balloon this year for Halloween, but we already have his costume. Sorry, Kee. Maybe next year.

Howl-loween at the Zoo

Yesterday they were having a Howl-loween event at the Zoo. Since we bought a year pass to the Zoo in March we thought this would be a fun, no more cost event to take Keegan too. Plus he always likes to go and see the elephants. When we were driving down the highway there were signs saying the Zoo parking lot was full, but we took our chances and ended up scoring a spot in the parking lot. There were hundreds of trick or treaters at the Zoo. It was so fun to see all the little kids and some of the big kids in their halloween costumes. They had a scavenger hunt for the kids and we have to get a stamp at each location on our map. Once we made it through all the stops and all the crowds and of course after we stopped to see the elephants we were able to turn in our map for a Howl-loween bag with tattoos and candy for Keegan. He loved being there and we had fun getting out as a family. This week is full of fun events and we are excited to attend all of them.

Happy Howl-loween!!!

Good Morning Playground

Keegan and I decided to hit the playground first thing after breakfast this morning. The best part about morning playground is that you get it to yourself. The worst part is that everything is still wet. After the playground we went and picked up Daddy from work and went to Costco. We love being able to pick up daddy for lunch.

Sweet Treats

I saw a picture on the front of the Crate and Barrel catalog that had some cute pumpkin shaped treats and I thought they were so cute that I wanted to make them. I went to find the pan but it cost $32.00 so I bagged that idea. I knew I could come up with something similar for much cheaper. So I decided to look for a mini bundt pan. I couldn't find one anywhere. Then the other day we were at JoAnne fabrics of all places and they had a pan that I was looking for. Who would have thought. So I waited until Friday to get the pan because I had a 50% off coupon that day. I got the pan I needed for $5.00. I was thrilled. What a bargain. These are mini pumpkin shaped carrot cakes with cream cheese frosting. They didn't turn out as cute as I imagined but I thought they were pretty good for a first attempt. The next time that I make them I will use a little thicker frosting for the leaves. I also think I will buy a cinnamon stick to use for the stem instead of the raisins that I found in my cupboard. I can't wait to eat them. I imagine they will taste pretty good. Happy October!!!

Thank Heavens for Little Boys

Well I am finally 18 weeks pregnant and that means it was time for my ultrasound. Today we found out that we are having a little boy. It was clear as day but they would not take a picture. It was fun to watch because the baby was pretty active. The sonogrammer did not take very good pictures for us though. Most of them are blurry. Little disappointing. We are really excited and excited for Keegan to have a little brother, a playmate and best buddy. Keegan still does not understand that there is going to be a baby. We have been trying to talk about it but he just carries on and doesn't understand. We bought him a baby doll so he could hold it and get used to baby. However everytime we try to give him the baby doll he doesn't want anything to do with it. We haven't thought of a name for our new little boy so if any of you have suggestions we would be happy to hear them. The name Woim has been voted out. haha. The other good news is I am finally over the sickness. I actually have been able to brush my teeth this week with out losing my stomach. Thank heavens for little boys.
