Oh....I am so tired this morning. I'm sure Matt can say the same thing. Keegan has decided that he doesn't want to sleep through the night anymore. This week he has woken up at least three times every night. Matt has been great about getting up with Keegan this week on his days off so that I can get a little more sleep before I have to go to work. But enough already. We are tired. I want to say he is waking because he is teething and maybe it has to do with us transitioning him from the bottle to the sippy cup. But I really don't know. Last night Matt just finally took Keegan into the other room and slept with him so that I could get some sleep before work this morning. That was so nice, but I still didn't sleep well. How do we get back to a good nights sleep?

I remember those days. I used to have a book, can't remember what it's called, but it was for getting your kids to sleep. Essentially you let them cry, without you in the room, and you go in every 5 min. or so if they are still crying, without saying anything, and just let them know you are there for them, then leave. Wait another 5 min. then go back in if they are crying. Do this until they fall asleep. If they wake up again, repeat. Then gradually increase the amount of time before you check on them on subsequent nights. Before you know it they are getting themselves to sleep w/o crying, etc. I used the technique on all my kids at one stage or another and within a week it worked on all of them!! Such a lifesaver and totaly worth the dreaded week of doing it! Just offering a little advice so you can get some sleep again ;)
Heather...I have agree with Kristen. Keeping them in their room (crib/bed) is the best thing. When you take them out of their room, you increase the chance of making another routine for them to sleep. Letting them know you are there without saying anything lets them know it quiet time.
Ok, I'm going to post but I'm not sure it will work but I'm with those other two gals. That is exactly what we did with our kids if they decided to wake up in the night. It's aweful at first but worth it! Good Luck ! It's tough to hear your baby cry! Especially your first one! HEE HEE!
Love ya, JEN
